How do you get to the point where food is just food?

1. Honour your hunger regardless of what you ate the day before and how much you ate. Food will always be the enemy if you deny yourself of food when your body is asking for it

2. Get to your set point weight: forget about the numbers, get to the weight that you can keep with zero effort (I never said healing your relationship with food will be easy because for most of us, dieting has been the only way to keep the weight off. Most of dieters are still under their set point weight)

3. Stop weighing yourself. You don’t want to associate food with a number

4. Stop body checking before and after meals. Your stomach will be “bigger” after a meal. Feel the food rather than look at it in the mirror

5. Create a list of ALL the foods you want to eat during a week so you can never feel like you cheated if everything is on the list
